Michelle and Sarah return with a wonderfully restored photo of Ava Gardner.  Thank you, ladies!  The photo is courtesy of Rikke.

Our burgeoning Dan Duryea gallery has three new photos, prepared by Sarah G., including:

Here are two more pictures, courtesy of Rikke:

We have an exotic shot of Maria Montez in Sudan (1945).

Enjoy this photo of Cleo Moore in Over-Exposed (1956).

Let's conclude with a very pretty color scan of Eva Marie Saint, courtesy of Peter.  Also check out the supersized version.

John sent us a pair of peachy photos with June Allyson and Kathryn Grayson in Two Sisters From Boston (1946).

Next up, Louise Brooks on the set in Now We're in the Air (1927).

Sarah G. restored a beautiful picture of Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald in Maytime (1937).

Here's Marilyn Monroe in We're Not Married (1952).

Stella Stevens joins the party in this posed shot courtesy of Rikke.

Rikke sent us a wonderful color photo of Gene Tierney in Sundown (1941).

To keep things going, Elizabeth sent us four additional Sundown scans featuring Bruce Cabot, George Sanders, Joseph Calleia, Carl Esmond, and Reginald Gardiner.  She also provided many new photos for the movie summary.

Today we feature popular 20th Century Fox superstar Tyrone Power.  These photos are dedicated to Michelle, who is Ty's most ardent fan and one of the two sweetest cowgirls south of the Pecos.  Thanks for all of your support and contributions to my site!

Michelle and Sarah prepared a new scan of Ethel Merman and her doggie purse, in We're Not Dressing (1934).  Woof!

Rikke sent us more fine images:

Here are William Boyd, Andy Clyde, and Russell Hayden in Pirates on Horseback (1941).  We also provided a 5000 pixel supersized, peachy keen, whiz-bang version.  Thanks to Rita for this photo!

Aviatrix Katharine Hepburn appears next, in Christopher Strong (1933).  Also check out the beautiful sepia version.

Enjoy this picture of Our Gang favorite Scotty Beckett.

Leila Hyams spruces up, in The Big Broadcast (1932).

Let's end with a photo of Greta Garbo and Fredric March in Anna Karenina (1935).  This photo was sent to us by John and is dedicated to Ricardo, an enthusiastic Greta fan!

August 17, 2012

Hedy Lamarr starts us off right today, with restoration courtesy of Sarah and Michelle.

These next four photos were specially prepared for Elizabeth and Sara G.:

We have two scans of our favorite, Ida Lupino, appearing in The Light That Failed (1939), with Ronald Colman, and in a solo shot from The Man I Love (1947).

This Barbara Bates picture, courtesy of Rikke, is maid to order.

Richard Arlen steals a kiss in The Light of Western Stars (1930), but Mary Brian doesn't seem to mind.

August 14, 2012

Sarah and Michelle prepared a lovely scan of Dorothy Jordan and Joel McCrea in The Lost Squadron (1932).

Newcomer Dawn Addams joins the party today.  Thanks to Rikke for this picture.

Pat-a-cake pat-a-cake, baker's man, Spanky mess the kitchen as fast as you can!  This photo is from the Our Gang comedy Birthday Blues (1932).

Next up, Elizabeth sent us two photos beautifully prepared by Sarah G.:

Cautious Mae Clarke wonders what lies on the other side of that door, in Frankenstein (1931).

We have Humphrey Bogart in Dead Reckoning (1947).

Wallace Beery and Jackie Cooper appear in Treasure Island (1934).

Let's end with Robert Taylor in Stand Up and Fight (1939), also featuring Wallace Beery and Florence Rice.  This is for Michelle!

Ricardo caught a misidentified photo from our July 31 update.  The photo of Deanna Durbin dancing with Franchot Tone is from His Butler's Sister (1943).

August 9, 2012

Here are Basil Rathbone, Ellen Drew, and Barbara Jo Allen in The Mad Doctor (1941).

Yet another Mamie Van Doren photo hits the airwaves.

Rikke sent over two beautiful images, and Michelle and Sarah got them ready for viewing:

  • Pretty starlet Helen Burgess appears here for the first time.  She made just four films before a fatal bout of pneumonia struck her down at age 20.

  • Kirk Douglas

Constance Bennett appears in Son of the Gods (1930).

Frances sent us a photo of silent superstar Rudolph Valentino from 1922, at the height of his fame.

Enjoy this dreamy picture of singer/actress Betty Grable, lost in reverie.

We found another nice photo of Ellen Drew—this time in a curious get-up.

Let's conclude with an interesting photo of the Our Gang kids in class on the MGM lot.  We have Joe Cobb, Jean Darling, Farina, and Harry Spear.  Judging by Farina's scores on the blackboard, we sure hope he's working on his multiplication tables.  The teacher is Fern Carter.

August 7, 2012

We present a beautiful photo of Jeanette MacDonald in Broadway Serenade (1939), with singer Kenny Stevens.  This is for Sarah, who celebrates her birthday today!

Next up, two photos from The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945), featuring Angela Lansbury, Donna Reed, Hurd Hatfield, and Billy Bevan.

Enjoy two scans courtesy of Rikke, prepared by Sarah and Michelle:  Leslie Brooks and Mary Murphy.

Here is a still from The Crusades (1935), with Henry Wilcoxon, Loretta Young, and Ian Keith.

We've expanded our new Dan Duryea gallery with two more photos.  These are for Sarah G. and Elizabeth!

Let's finish things off with another picture of Mamie Van Doren.
