First up this month is Best Actor Oscar-winner Wallace Beery, a major star from the early silents into the late 1940s.

Here are two on-location pictures of Alice Lake between scenes in the frozen north, in Uncharted Seas (1921).  One is a shot of  the stars (including Rudolph Valentino) and crew (including director Wesley Ruggles and cameraman John F. Seitz).  The other photo has Alice steadfastly tolerating an affectionate sled dog.
